Environment admin

An environment admin is responsible for configuring the Enterprise Hub. Environment admins perform actions such as:

• Configuring API discovery mechanisms such as categories, collections, and tags
• Setting up user login options
• Creating and managing roles and permissions
• Viewing audit trails and APIs
• Impersonating users for support and debugging purposes

Organization admin

The Enterprise Hub can have multiple organizations and each organization may have multiple organization admins. Organization admins perform actions such as:

• Managing users and teams within the organization
• Approving requests to make APIs public
• Customizing the organization homepage

Builder (or provider)

An API builder creates and manages APIs. Builders use Studio to perform actions such as:

• Adding and updating APIs in the Enterprise Hub
• Uploading OpenAPI documents to automatically populate the API details
• Sharing Private APIs with users, organizations, and teams
• Observing usage metrics with API Analytics

Consumer (or developer)

An API consumer is a developer who uses existing APIs. API consumers can perform actions such as:

• Searching APIs with advanced searching and filtering
• Consuming APIs through API listings
• Monitoring API usage in the Developer Dashboard

A user can be both an API builder and consumer. Additionally, a user can belong to multiple organizations and teams.
